Mitsubishi Chemicals announced 8X DVD-R with CPRM support


Mitsubishi Chemicals announced a new series of 8x DVD-R media that will support the CPRM protection scheme and are addressed mainly for digital broadcasting content recording.

Although CPRM was applied only for DVD-RW/RAM, Taiyo Yuden and Hitachi Maxell where the first to announce DVD-R media with CPRM correspondence. Toshiba and the Pioneer are also planning to sale new DVD recorders with CPRM DVD-R support.
