Blu-ray Disc group to incorporate in October


The 13 founding companies that proposed the Blu-ray Disk format will incoporate into a new Blu-ray Disk Association in October.

The association will consists of three committees; a Joint Technical committee (JTC) inherited from the orginal founders, a newly formed Compliance Committee, and a Promotion Committee.

Shunji Ohara, chairman of JTC, said, "Version 1.0 of the physical specifications was completed in June." The logical format in version 0.9 will be released by the end of this year. "We hope to finalize version 1.0 next year," said Ohara.
