Are there any Capacity Limitations?

Achieving full capacity of todays' Gigabyte Giants at >2.1 GB,>4.2 GB and >8.4 GB, can be quite problematic. There are limitations at these capacity points due to a combination of Hardware, BIOS, and Operating System constraints. These barriers may require special installation procedures with software, additional or upgrades to hardware or BIOS to successfully install a drive exceeding these barriers. See the " Maxtor White Paper on Capacity Barriers" for details.
