Does speed affect compatability?

I've heard that you have a better chance getting a VCD to run in a stand alone DVD player if you burn it at 1-4x instead of 8 or 12x. Is this true? Does the content of a disc burned at 12x differ from the content of a disc burned at 4x from the same image file?

No, it is not true. The only way for your stand alone DVD player to play a VCD is to support it anyway
