Hello to all of you. I'm a new member here and I would appreciate a couple of answers. I have a ND-3500 drive with 2.18 official firmware. Can I flash it with the 2.28 firmware ? The 2.28 has the bitsetting option for +R discs. Or it would be better to use the 2.18btrpc1 firmware ? I'm not interested for the region free option only for the bitsetting and the riplock BUT only if the riplock will not damage the drive.
If I use riplock is the overspeeding of the drive make any damage and if not why NEC doesn't use it by default ?

I have to decide between 2.28 (if it is possible to use it) and the 2.18btrpc1 firmware. I'm only interested for the bitsetting option they offer. 2.28 is an original one (from I/Odata) and I think it's much safier . But if riplock option won't harm my drive then I can use the 2.18btrpc1 firmware.
