Ten Hitachi-branded mobile phones will be launched in Taiwan in 2005, according to CT Huang, chairman of handset distributor Ulycom Technology. Of the models Ulycom will sell, one will be a cameraphone equipped with a megapixel digital camera, to be released in the first quarter, and a model with a built-in 3.2-megapixel camera, which will be released in the second quarter, said Huang.
Ulycom is forecasting its revenues in 2005 will grow 30-40% from this year’s NT$1.6 billion, Huang stated. Handset distribution accounts for around 60% of Ulycom’s revenues currently, Huang added.
The distributor introduced three Hitachi-branded phones, including two clamshell models, to the market on December 22.
The HTG-200, one of the three models introduced on December 22, uses blue LEDs for the keypad light, white LEDs for the LCD backlight and red, blue and purple LEDs for the indicator light.
