Ok this is SO bizarre. I'm using a 24x10x40 TDK writer, and I've been using TDK 16x 80minute media which works beautifully at 24x. I've also been using 16x Imations (some of which hit 24x and some of which stay at 16x throughout the burn..) - I've also been using some Verbatim 16x which do 24x no problem. HOWEVER, the best media I've used is DEFINITELY the BASF 12x 74minute cds. For some reason ONLY these CD's hit 24x VERY early on during the burn process. The TDK's and Verbatims will hit 24x approximately 40-45% of the way through a burn of a 74minute full cd. However, the BASF 12x will hit 24x at about 20-25% of the way!! Can someone explain this? I've repeated these results a TON of times using CDRWin and Nero 5.5. Is there an explanation??
