Software Publisher's Description
Transfer your CD collection to your computer for use on your portable MP3 player. Rip tracks and convert files to WAV or MP3 format in batch mode with bit-rate control. The program supports almost all CD drives. This application includes additional software from companies such as Whenu, Excite, Bargain Buddy, Consumer Software Labs, NavExcel. All these programs can be easily uninstalled through Windows' Add/Remove programs from the control panel.

Version 1.32 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

Erm... "All these programs can be easily uninstalled..."?
How about not installing them at all in first place?

Yeeuck! - get all your spyware loaded by just one application - Jeez!

If you don't like EAC or CDEX, then the third one worthy of consderation is the now freeware Audiograbber

The price of the other "freeware" is far too high for me!

In case anyone has been away from the two best CD rippers out there for too long....

EAC = Exact Audio Copy - http://www.exactaudiocopy.org - actually "postcardware" rather than freeware - plus points are powerful (but slow) ripping of degraded CDs in "secure" mode, and a good command of command line encoders - if you can pass parameters and data to it, you can probably use it with EAC.

CDEX = CD Extractor, I presume, it's always been CDEX http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/index.php
It has a "paranoia" mode for robust reading.
