Hi, I'm new to dvd burning and I bought a cakebox of TY T02 DVD+Rs from rima, only thing I didn't notice was that they are the shiny silver thermal printable kind. My question is, is it okay to write on the top of these with a felt tip pen like I've always done with cdrs etc? I don't have and don't want to invest in a label printer.

Yes, a sharpie will be fine for those, as they are made for heat transfer on the top.
