How can I confirm that Riplock is removed? I'm using a FW that is supposd to be Riplock free, but I'm not sure, Ripping is still really slow compared to my Liteon. Is there a test I can do to check it?

thx

bob

Just run Info tool. Check what it will say in the bottom at the region control.

Doesn't riplock refer to ripping speed?

RPC1 refers to DVD regions, unless I am mistaken.

That's what I thought, too. maybe Iggy wanted to confirm the FW update had installed?

ooops

guys I am terribly sorry, I was confused. I apologize.

So, what was the speed before the riplock remove? Rip again a movie, a pressed DL one, and tell us the reported speeds. Wit DVD Decrypter if possible, with the log enabled.

I'm 75% through the new Harry Potter using DVD Decrypter. The read rate has stabilised at 4X. I'll let ya know when it's done.

NEC3500 ripping speed is very slow. i advice you (as other have done to me and was a good one too) to get a dvd-rom and use it to rip your movies, then the nec to burn.

That's what I think too. On a P4, 2.4ghz, too.

Do you think I should try another FW version? Which one? This is the 2.c8 se ritek version.

thx
