No, I think NEC make them all, with same strategies, at the same time.
They only differs on SL bitsetting (MadDog 2.F8 do SL bitsetting) and "id string" for the TDK, to my mind...

The only change is version number and id string...
I'm quite sure there is no SL bitsetting in the TDK fw build, seeing what's already on tdb site for this TDK 882n.
