Hey all, i am new to this board and i have a problem:

I try to flash my 2510 with a rpc1 firmware, because i have many different dvds and i have no changes left!
Another Problem is that I hav win XP and no floppy drive, this means that i have no dos!
I tried maddogs f7 and f8 but i every time i flash the rpc1 file my drive doesn't work anymore.

What could I do?

I think your problem is not the RPC1 firmware (you can check that your firmware is RPC1 with Nero Infotool).

Your problem is purely software !

no, there is written rpc II !!!

as firmware there is now written 2.f7, but because i installed the 2.f7orig.exe, to recover the firmware, because with the flasher nothing happend!
Maybe I need another bin file, or I operated it wrong under win xp?

Ok, choose "2.F8 Windows" on http://tdb.rpc1.org#ND2510A and install the RPC1 .exe version in the zip files.

For Nero, uninstall it and reboot. Next download & install the pack1 (+ the language pack 1 of your choice) : but be aware that there's a bug with Nero 6.6.0.1 rejecting SOME valid 6.x licence : contact Nero or install last 6.3.1.25 version from the archive, that works fine anytime.

Try to connect the drive alone on the secondary IDE channel forcing it to "master" position. Without any media inside.

Your drive seems to have a material problem though...

You should be able to find "Universal Boot Disk" or something like that on the net...

My problems start growing bigger

i didn't do anything since the last post, because i wanted to download an boot disk first!

But today I started my computer and he didn't find the dvd-drave anymore!!!!
The LED in front of it is lighting all the time!!!

I can only open it imediatly after i started the computer, when windows is loaded it isn't doing anything!

I allready tried to put it to another IDE plug, but it didn't work!

What could I do?? Is there maybe a way to reset everything?
