Okay, something is wrong.
I got a 100 disc of ridata 8x DVD+R and Nero only allows to burn at 4x???
The thing is these disc are blank...ei, it doesn't say 4x or 8x on them....is a plain silver top. How do I know that they send me the 4x instead of the real 8x?

I've tried with MadDog 2F9 and NEC 2.18...same result.

help pls!!!

The media is capable of 8x speed burning in selected drives like the 16x speed media above which gives the following results

4x Pioneer 107 & 108
12x NEC 3500
16x liteon 1633
16X Benq 1620

Yes, but according to the article:
http://www.cdrinfo.com/Sections/Reviews/Specific.aspx?ArticleId=10711&PageId=11

Ridata (manuf code: Ritek R03) 8x supposed to burn at 8x with NEC 3500...Info is incorrect or certainly is misleading. :(

Hi. My burner is Toshiba SD-R5272, and it can actually burn Ridata 4x-rated discs at 8x. They are also RitekR03, rev. 2. What I am wondering is why are there still rev.1 discs (and rated 8x!!!) on the market, when these 4x-rated Ridata rev.2 discs were available here in Croatia for 2 or 3 months already!? Why label an earlier (and worse) revision as 8x when 90% of burners can't go higher than 4x with them, and label a newer (and better) revision as 4x when the majority of burners can burn them at 8x!?

R03 Rev2 can burned at 8X, R03 Rev1 only at 4X

With Liggy's beta 8 firmware I can finally burn the Ritek R03 revision 01h at "8x". The average is
about 6x however as it starts at 4x and finishes at 8x.

Oddly, the Ritek G04 (4x), can be burned at average of 8.6x, with a max of 12x.
