Problem with DVD disc of HD Advance v2.0 - 11/10/2004 5:47:58 PM

I have a problem, when I insert the DVD disc of HD Advance version 2.0 my PS2 makes a lot of strange noises (actually I believe it is the HD). Then the screen goes black and comes to my PS2 menu. I tried it another time and it said "Disk read error". Is there something wrong with my PS2 reading the disk? I have had a problem in the past with reading dual-layer disks, but I got this fixed by Sony (for free!). One more thing, the the CD version works fine, I installed a game (Tekken Tag Tournament). Could it be my network adapter? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Ok I got the DVD version to work, but it still makes a lot of noise occasionally (actually I realized its the disc drive not the hard drive). Is this normal? I also noticed numerous circular line on the bottom side of the disc, is this normal? Thanks for all your help in advance.

Ok now it doesn't work again??? Should I return it??? I just got it today.

The disc drive is making a lot of noise and stuff.

It works on and off. I also noticed some scratches on the disk could this be the problem? Should I just return it?

I have that same sound when I use HD Advance, almost like a really fast grinding noise. I haven't had any problems though, so I didn't give it a whole lot of thought.

Now it's working fine but I think I should return, since after all there it DID come with scratches on it.

yes your ps2 lense is going to be broken soon either get a new one or get it fixed it has happen to 2 of my ps2's so far im on my 3rd one now

Could it just be that I need to clean my lens? Anyone recommend any cleaners that I can just put in the drive like a disc rather than opening up the ps2 (I have heard some these drive cleaners can wreck the lens???)
