Probably its just a minor glitch from DVDInfoPro, or flash is using an older version

Hello.
My first post in here.. lol

Well, i did buy my 3500a in this week, and found this forum.. I had FW 216 in my drive, and i upgraded it to 217SE with no problems.
That was fine, but now i have a prob. when i flashed this 218SE in my drive. My dvd player softs wont play orginal dvd:s anymore. I did downgraded again to 216 orginal, and no probs again. Did flash 218SE one more time, but no can do. I did try with my ATI AIW dvd-player, but it wont say anything, and even VLC player stops when movie warning text:s comes in my "tv" (monitor). Is there some bug in this file or something? I did flash with NECWinFlash, and it says all ok..

edit: same problem with 218 & 218SE.. Can not play orginal DVD movies..

I have flashed my two days old 3500A with the 2.F9 so far so good :-)
But i would liked also one offisial 2.18 with alot freedom in it ;-)

Specialy about +R .

I think that the list of guest's for it will be big , so i will wait like the rest .

I still cannot get my Ritek R03 (labeled as 8X) DVD+R's to go above 4X.

Has anyone been sucessful at 8X.

I have tried 2.17, 2.18 , 2.c8 SE

So has u can see 218 doesn't have dvd+r bitsetting but it has the better writing strategies so I assume it is the better firmware avaiable in the momment (Waiting for 2c9 )

Well i did install the original 2.18 , and i have burn Traxdata (Ritek R03) +R & Primedisc (Ritek G05) -R , both at 8X , With the Nero DVD CD Test software ..

I got my set of Ritek R03 media (plain silver, no label) but it is rated for 8x...i couldn't get it to go past 4x either. I tried lal the firmwares you have listed about including MadDogs.....

Info here is incorrect for the Ritek R03 !!

R03 Rev2 can do 8X, R03 Rev1 supported only at 4X!!!
