I know that the unofficial official 2.17 has been available for a while off this site, but now NEC has a download link for it on their site (why the delay?) I haven't done any comparisons to see if it is exactly the same, nor do I have the time. Just wanted folks to know. If you already upgraded with the unofficial official firmware from this site, you can still update using the file from NEC.

Someone else asked in another thread about flashing back to official firmware from hacked. Go to the Dangerous Brothers website, reinstall 2.16 (it also resets the number of remaining zone changes to 4), then you can upgrade to 2.17 using the offical NEC update. The official release works fine for my uses, always get a little nervous using hacked firmware. Not that there's anything wrong with it!

************UPDATE***************

v2.17 is on NEC's US site only. There is no mention of what fixes there are.

Now there is version v2.18 on the German site. See my other post.

Hehe, interesting, US lists 2.17, while German says 2.17 is not official, , Pig Vomit can you post links for the 2.17 from the USA site?

It is especially interesting that both were both posted for the first time on their respective websites on the same day. Yesterday I sent an e-mail to NEC USA asking why they just posted 2.17 while the German site has posted 2.18. I'll post any response received.
