MadDog 2.F9 is out nad it can set DVDRW to DVD-ROM BookType... See the DB site...

What's the changes and also how is it comparing to the TDK C28_SE...thanks.

Hello,

I flashed my 3500 with the new 2F9 firmware, and changed the default booktype for +RW to -ROM with DVDInfoPro.
Both DVDInfoPro, WinBTypeV2 and NECWinFlash confirm that the default booktype for the drive is set to -ROM.

However, when I do a full format at the lowest speed, de booktype for my +RW media is still +RW.

As you can read here, I'm not the only one with this problem.
Some have successfully burned a +RW with a -ROM booktype, but not all.

Maybe the booktype is only changed on NEW not used +RW media?

Lite-on and BenQ have a utility to set a booktype for already burned +RW's. Isn't that a good idea for NEC?
