32x gold from which manufacturer [?]
Is this true gold or fools gold.
And is the quality really that good at 32x.
MPO is also 32x rated and most burners can burn them at this speed
only the problem is there is a mayor significant in the rise of errors. (Most test results say not faster as 16x.)

Why gold may give extra longlivety.
A high error ratio might take it away.

it's Ritek gold, and I would asume it is fools gold...though it is extremely expensive!

I could send you one if you want?

I checked some other sources and indeed there are Ritek 32x gold disc's out there. It is gold this time but not the full 24 carats some other manufacturer use. There also 32x fools gold Ritek disc's out there.
The real 32x gold are quite good. Not as good as Kodak or Mitsui(Ultra) but better as MPO(which is 24 carats)
The 32x Riteks can handle 32x with decent quality with most burners.

to the yamaha guy:
check to see what firmware you currently have ... maybe yours is already the newest. it will show what firmware version in your CD properties under control panel ... system.

and just to be sure, you are CLOSING/FINALISING the audio CDs that you burn?

The non -profesional way.
Fools gold disc's are mostly disc's with just some coating layers painted gold. The reflection layer is still mostly silver. So destroy some of the layers and you will find out if both sides of this layer reflection layers are gold. If it then your change of real gold used is allready a lot higher.
Now you could test this layer. But trust me you really don't want to test it any further.[:o)]
