From all your reviews here I see that you use the PX-712 as one of your benchmark DVD readers. Is this because the Plextor drive is that much more superior in reading than ohter manufacturers???

Not exactly, Plextor PX-712A is the first DVD recorder that supports measuring of CD/DVD burners officially, with Plextor's guarantee...

of course other drives also support similar functions, but un-officially and with not very good results. What this mean? It means that the results with will get from two different Plextor PX-712A are the same, while using two LiteOn drives you won't get same results, even using same reading speed, same disc, same firmware.

After all we want repeatability and constinency from our test results!
