Hi!
I could find SKC DVD-R for 0.49 euro (bulk). Can anybody tell something about their quality.
I will use them mainly for backing up movies and data.
The burner is NEC ND-3500AG.

Any input will be much appreciated.
Thank's in advance guys!

While we haven't burned 4X rated media, i think its medium quality, other users can share their experiences

Wow, thank's for that minos, it must have taken time to you for doing the tests.

Now based on nero cd-speed's graph, the +R disc looks better, but in plextools, the -R disc has less errors.
So which one should I prefer for burning, +R or -R?

One other thing: Can I burn a movie to test a disc in cd speed, or the program creates specific data?
Thanks again man!

P.S.: SKC is the cheapest I could find here in Athens, if you know any other make in a reasonable price please tell me

I've recently bough a 50 spindle of Laser DVD-R's (which are SKC) for only $30 Australian.
Too good a price to be true I thought and to some extent I was proved right.

I have a 3 year old XMS DVD player, which plays my usual Ritek DVD+R's fine, but about half way through
most of the movies I've backed up they start to pixelate and then stop. I've had some menu initiation problems
too.

Transfer the disk to my playstation and it plays fine, so maybe its time to upgrade my DVD player.

I have yet to give one of these disks to a friend to see how it plays in other (newer) DVD players so I'll keep you informed.

Well, a good media should be compatible with the player IMO, so the fact that you're experiencing problems with skc probably means something.
