Is TY DVD-R media unquestionably the best media out there? Looking through the forums it seems to be held up as the #1 for quality. I can get TY02 media code DVD-R's 50 for $25 (100% legit, not fakes). Seems like I should stock up??

thx

Unless there is some sort of crazy rebate in there, I *HIGHLY* doubt those are legit.... Even buying 10,000pcs you'd have a hard time getting that price.

Yeah, if that's USD it sounds too cheap. Anything less then say $0.60 USD per disc I would question, unless it was Fuji Brand, or That's Brand coming straight out of Japan.

I can't see someone being $0.20 per disc below Rima.com's price on TY 8x Media for only 50pcs.

It's not too cheap Dolph. Fuji doesn't use fake TY, it's the real deal, made in Japan in those trademark TY spindles. Best Buy just has them on sale. Not like Best Buy knows anything about the manufacturers of the media they carry and how good/bad they are

They are FUJI 8x 50 packs and my Pioneer DVR-A08xl recognizes them to burn at 12x. Yes it was the deal going on at BestBuy. $29.99 - $5 M.I.R. = $24.99 USD. Even if I don't get all my rebates back it still is an excellent deal. DVR+R's are on sale this week, I am assuming made in Japan are more TY and the made in Tawain are fujiflm03 discs? I think I might re-burn some of my old Prodisc DVR's onto the new TY's.

Wow.... utterly shocking! Well, stock up on them, it's a very good price!

I just want to add, in Fry's Electronic there is the similar deal where you can get 50pk FUJI DVD+R 8X at $25 after rebate. However, becareful when you shop - I noticed the FUJI DVD-R which has a similar package, but it's said in Taiwan in the package instead of made in Japan. So maybe only the DVD+R media are TY made in Japan.

One question - Are these discs with code YUDEN000T02 good to burn in 16x? In Nero it has the option of burning at 16x with NEC 3500, just don't know how good the quality of the 16x burn is.

Welcome to CDRinfo's Forum!

As you can see in this page, YUDEN000T02 can be burned at 16X with good quality.
