Press Release: Epson's newest inkjet, the Stylus Photo R320 printer supports PC-free printing, 13 memory card types, a built-in color monitor for viewing and selecting images before printing them and it will generate a variety of popular borderless print sizes. It also prints directly onto ink-jet printable CD-R and DVD-R recordable media.
The ability to print directly onto CDs and DVDs, using a front loading CD tray, eliminates the expense, inconvenience, and risk of using adhesive labels. With the accompanying software, users can design professional looking CDs and DVDs that incorporate customized text, unique backgrounds and personalized images.
The Stylus Photo 320 features a six-color Photo Ink set and resolutions up to 5760 x 1440 optimized dpi. It supports borderless prints in all the popular sizes, including 4" x 6", 5" x 7", 8" x 10", and letter size. Panoramic prints are also supported.
As a stand-alone unit (no computer is necessary) it lets users crop, resize, and print photos directly from memory cards or picture CDs. Supported memory cards include CompactFlash Type I and II, MultiMediaCards, IBM Microdrives, xD-Picture Cards, Sony Memory Sticks, Memory Sticks PRO, Memory Sticks Duo, Memory Sticks Pro Duo, MagicGate Memory Sticks, SmartMedia, xD-Picture Cards, and Secure Digital cards.
The Stylus Photo R320 uses individual ink cartridges; it supports PRINT Image Matching (P.I.M.) technology, and it can be configured with an optional Bluetooth Photo Print Adapter for wireless printing from enabled devices like mobile phones, PDA's and computers. It carries a list price of $199 (£111).
