Microsoft Malaysia Sdn Bhd expects over 2,500 participants for its Microsoft Tech-Ed 2004 expo, which will be held on Sept 14-17 in Kuala Lumpur. Its business group manager of server platform Ali Jaleel said over 70 speakers from the Information Technology (IT) industry worldwide would be present during the annual event to share with local enthusiasts the latest breakthroughs and discuss industry issues. "The event would give participants the edge to come up with new solutions through the Microsoft platform," he said at a media briefing in Kuala Lumpur on Sept 13. Ali said part of the event’s objective was to develop local IT technopreneurs by including a hands-on laboratories programme as the highlight of the expo. He said 1,600 people had registered for the laboratories programme at RM655 per participant. Currently, there are over 3,500 Microsoft partners in the country, including 900 under Microsoft's global independent software vendors (ISVs) programme. Source : TheEdgeDaily
