Bioware confirms that Jade Empire will be the first of many…

Bioware joint-CEO, Dr Ray Muzyka, has confirmed that the forthcoming title, Jade Empire, will be the first in a new series of titles. Speaking at the European Games Network in London’s Docklands last week, Dr. Muzyka said, “…there are going to be follow-on products - sequels and other things, absolutely…this is a rich world, and there are all these parts around the periphery of the empire that we haven't even touched on. There are lots of cool adventures still in the works."

Expected to be released in the first few months of 2005, Jade Empire is set to become yet another success for Bioware, after last years Star Wars RPG, Knights of the Old Republic, and Baldur’s Gate.

The game is set in fantasy world based on style of the Ancient Orient, and sees your character travel the globe learning new martial arts skills in the hope of destroying the evil that threatens the world and becoming a Master of martial arts in the process.

Although the game will be released on Xbox, Dr. Muzyka advised that a PC version remains a possibility, “…we might do one, but it's something we have to talk to Microsoft about…They're not averse to the idea, but really, it's Xbox exclusive - it's really been designed for the Xbox."
