I finally was able to get CD Doctor running after installing the 4.72 ASPI drivers.

Well, I ran the test, after the test got over it showed me a graph.

What does the blue and red indicate? There was a LOT of red towards the end of the graph.
What does the c1 min/max and c2 min/max mean? Which kind of errors are more severe? c1? or c2?

C1 errors are Blue, and are normal in small amounts. C2 Errors are Red, and are BAD but not always fatal to the CD. a full explanation is given here:

Okay, so the plextor makes errors on the media only when in your computer...and same with the LiteON. This deffinatly points to your computer having the problem. Do you have DMA enabled??? also, is the CD Writer on the same IDE channel as the HDD you're burning from? if so, put the CD Writer on a seperate IDE channel, and make sure DMA is enabled. Download and install ASPI 4.60, it's more stable then 4.72. As for how to interpret the tests you did, I'm not sure which gives more accurate data, The High Speed Test or the Low Speed test. I have a simaler situation to you with the differences in tests, and I am waiting for soeone with more experience then me to assist. I think John knows a fair amount about CD Doctor, and rjw has been doing a lot of this kind of testing lately, so perhaps one of them (or some one else with simaler experience) will help us

yes, ofcourse DMA is enabled.

BTW, I am not clear what you mean by IDE channel, are you referring those those flat grey wires?

Ok, I have 2 harddisks and 2 CDdrives (1 CDROM and 1 CD-R)

Both the CDdrives share a common IDE a cable between themselves and the Harddisks share their own IDE cable too.

So, in other words, the CD-R and the harddisk does not share the same IDE cable.

Also, I disconnected my CDROM and burnt a couple CDs... still the errors persist :(
I even interchanged the IDE cables between the harddisks and the CDdrives, still the errors persists :(
