CDSpeed author said AOpen drives can report C1/C2 but...i tried few discs, nothing reported

Initially I got same results with Aopen CRW3248 and thought that it was probably because the drive was not in the supported list. But when I tested more recently with a CD-R known to have C2, the drive did show C2, but not C1 . Similar behaviors were also observed with Teac CD-540E and Pioneer DVD-105. Maybe you like to do similar tests with your drive.

first, a hello to everybody!

I also have trouble to get c1/c2 error scan with cd speed working: the start button is greyed-out. I own an aopen crw2440 which says it is able to do this. I have nero program suite running with upgrade v5.5.10.20 and I don't want to update unless this corrects the problem.
(I aim at having these error report figures as a measure for the global sound quality and playback-ability of my "archived" music cds. I hope this is what I can take those c1/c2 error tests for, but this is another thing )

does anyone have some new information on this issue? thanks for all of your help.

how about trying the latest version of CDSpeed?

@emperor: a year or so ago I was able to do this c1/c2 scan but, unfortunately I can't remember the exact configuration. moreover, I meanwhile updated the firmware of my drive and I can't roll-back this. so I posted this in the hope to find someone who has the same drive and problem. seems I really have to try the new cd speed because I tried some various cd media, and none of them did work...

do you accidently know whether I have to consider secial things or settings within cd speed to activate this c1/c2 error scan? thanks.
