Riteck 4X DVD-R Disc

If you put them in an 8X burner will they burn then at 8X or just 4X?

Also is burning at a slower speed, movies that is,(rather than data backup), better for picture quality than a faster time taken to burn?

What are your thoughts on Riteck 4X and 8X DVD-R Disc's

Is the 4x media able to be burn on 8x speed depends on burner's support. Even this media may be burned overspeed like 8x, but it may still to be burned on 4x speed on other burner.

The second question, I would still say, it depends.

If you have a good 8x media and a good burner, I don't think to burn it at 8x speed will have a worser quality than to burn it at 4x speed.

I have been looking at purchasing Ritek GO4, your comment mentions, quality not very good.

I have Optorite DDO405 8X. I have tried Verbatim (MCC) and Datastream Pro. Both freeze towards the end of the movie. I am still looking for a good SL media.

I have upgraded fireware from 150E to 160E - no problems.

I used Imation for all CD-r work - never one coaster in thousands. I note that Imation can be RitekGO3 or CMC. Has anyone tried Imation.

I guess the short question is -"Is there such a thing as a good SL media for DVD-R movies?"

Just found some great information at my shop. Just purchased, as a test ......

TDK 4X DVD-R in single packs .... they are TYG01. Taiyo Yuden Co Ltd - made in Japan, but if you buy in 5 pack they are made in Taiwan, by who .... I do not know.

Interesting, just burning now will keep you up to date.

Possibly the made in Taiwan TY are not real TY even they have TYG01 ID code...

I think that real TY are only made in Japan
