Tokyo - Sanyo has announced a new SD memory digital camcorder, the DMX-C4. Due for release September 10, the Sanyo DMX-C4 features a high-speed processing engine enabling the capture of 4-mepapixel still images while shooting video at 30fps.
While it is still unclear as to how specifically the DMX-C4 compares to Sanyo’s VPC-C1, a remarkably similar model to Fisher’s FVD-C1, released last year, the DMX-C4 does includes a newly developed camera shake correction mechanism. It includes a 5.8x optical zoom, which is identical to the VPC-C1 and the FVD-C1. Also, with the ability to capture 4-megapixel still images, the DMX-C4 does outperform the VPC-C1, which captures 3.2-megapixel stills.
Furthermore, Sanyo’s DMX-C4 also includes a 1.8 inch, 130K-pixel, low-temperature polysilicon TFT color LCD screen, which is .3 inches larger than the VPC-C1 and the FVD-C1’s included LCDs.
The DMX-C4 is priced at approximately $687 (¥75,600), weighs 159g, and measures 69mm x 108mm x 34mm. These dimensions are extremely comparable to Sanyo’s VPC-C1 and Fisher’s FVD-C1.The DMX-C4 is available in “romance blue” and “active orange” color schemes.
Sanyo plans initially to produce 15,000 units per month.
