Chip giant Intel has made an investment in a firm which is designing silicon based methanol fuel cells. Neah Power Systems said it had an investment of $12 million from investors including Intel Capital and other venture capital firms. Neah wants to provide efficient and safe fuel cells aimed at notebook PCs, and other small form factor products. Fuel cell technology for notebook PCs still seems to be a way off, it appears. Quite a few firms have demonstrated prototypes of fuel cell batteries, including Toshiba and others. Source : TheInquirer
