Aimed at the corporate display market or simply those who love mixing their technologies: Sony has announced a wireless LAN-compatible LCD TV.
For the Japanese market only at present, the 20-inch KLV-20WS2 will work with both the 5GHz 802.11a and the 2.4GHz 802.11g bands, reports
NE Asia Online.
In order to deal with radio interference a dual-band auto scan function is used, which selects an optimal channel automatically from seven channels - four channels from the 5GHz band and the rest from the 2.4GHz band.
Degradation of picture quality, according to Sony, is minimised by a fully-digital video transmission system - it processes digitally converted signals directly without reconverting them into analogue signals.
The price is expected to be around 200,000 yen (approximately £1,050). At the time of writing there was no confirmation from Sony regarding news of a European release or pricing.
