Red Hat, a maker of open-source and Linux software, on Wednesday named Kate Johnson vice president of its services group.

Johnson formerly served as managing director at UBS Investment Bank, looking after technology and logistics of its investment banking division. At Red Hat, she will oversee global training, support and consulting services from the company's headquarters in Raleigh, N.C.
