Advanced Micro Devices will describe its "Toledo" dual-core chip at the Fall Processor Forum this October, delineating yet another evolutionary shift in microprocessor design.
According to a conference agenda posted to the In-Stat/MDR analyst firm's web site, the Fall Processor Forum will also include presentations by executives from Via Technologies, disclosing the company's next-generation Centaur core, and Transmeta Corp., who will discuss their second-generation Efficeon processor and technology roadmap. Freescale Semiconductor will also provide an important glimpse into is future with a presentation of a dual-core embedded PowerPC chip.
