Shares of ATI Technologies Inc. tumbled 9% yesterday one day after rival Nvidia Corp. reported quarterly results that missed expectations badly and a report was issued that says the graphics chip makers are losing business to tech giant Intel Corp.

Whta's the rival Intel product in this case?
(I am asking this myself, as I hardly follow the relevant advances lately...)

There was no specific information about Intel's AWESOME product that would be that good to shake ATI's shares...

As far as I could tell..it was only about speculations..nothing more..

I did a little research...and found this article that tells a bit more about that...

In a note downgrading ATI to hold from buy, Wedbush analyst David Wu predicted that the severe pricing actions by Intel and the price war in mainstream discrete desktop chips "that was so devastating to Nvidia will also have a measurable impact on ATI's fiscal fourth quarter." He cut his earnings estimate for ATI's fourth quarter to 18 cents from 25 cents (compared to a consensus estimate of 21 cents). Wedbush hasn't done banking for ATI.
READ MORE HERE...

So its about the price war I guess...maybe Intel is lowering the prices...but still...dont know which Intel's product could compete with ATI!? I mean..Intel has some of their own Graphic chipsets..but..none is THAT EXTRA GOOD!

I'll just stick with ATI for some time...but got to admit that NVIDIA's new GEFORCE 6800ULTRA is really a nice toy to have.

We'll see how ATI's reply will look like...

By the way, CDRinfo's 6800Ultra review proves this.

Actually I ate that for 30 Years , but I guess we all know how it is with that...You get used to it...it becomes too boring...i.e....You may have 18 y.o. Miss Universe right now as Your girlfriend...but...will You call her the same (Miss Universe) when she is some 50 y.o....or....will the 18 y.o. neighbours daughter looks like top of the world then?
Got the hint?

And about 6800..why bother buying one...when 2 is better...check this article (if You havent yet)...thats only some $1400 I guess...no big deal...1 month without caviar...and off we go...
