I just got my Benq1600 and borrowed "Harry Potter1" from neighbour. Then with dvdshrink user re-author choosed movie (more then 7 gig) and by compression english and dutch audio an dutch subtitels. Backingup took about 60-70 minutes. (burning took about 7 minutes) It didn't make any difference if I ripped the movie with the benq or my liteon 165 dvd-rom.
Is 60-70 minutes normal or not??

Ps. I have an Athlon TB 1Ghz, 512 mb, 120 gig maxtor.

Thanks. Now I know it's cpu related. I thought my drives were the problem.

Well make sure that DMA is enabled for all IDE/ATAPI devices.

Again it depends on the used CPU/memory combination

Just curious, what's your CPU?

Mine is AMD Athlon 1500+ and with 512MB RAM, and it usually takes me about 40~60 mins.

Maybe some day I will upgrade my hardware..

I have not tried the deep analysis yet. So I am not sure how long it will take on my machine.
But as you mentioned, 10 mins for the encoding.
Wow....That sounds very fast compare to mine....
