I have borrowed a friends Phillips CDR 765 for a while with a view to recording some DJ mixes

I have the CDR unit connected to my Pioneer DJM 500 DJ mixer via the booth out connection and into the CDR 765 via the analogue in

Whenever i try and start recording the NoAUDIO warning flashes as soon as i hit record....can anyone help me

Have you checked if connections are made properly? I don't know if the Philips CDR 765 drive has any restrictions (copy protection) when recording from such devices such as Pioneer DJM 500, maybe you can ask Pioneer if has such restrictions...

all the connections have been thoroughly checked, i'm not aware of a any restirctions on the Pioneer DJM, the unit is pretty old so would the type of CDR i'm using make that much of a difference?? Any recommend a reliable CDR that i could use to check?

Maybe the Philips CDR drive has restrictions, don't know...

Hi, Have you found the solution? If not, I purchased mine last weekend. The no audio means that the machine does not recognize the data disks formulated for computer. You need to purchase specific CD(R) CD(RW) disks formulated for audio only. The reproduction is quite good. The disks are available from TDK, Phillips etc
