Being new to both the flashing of drives with different firmwares and participating in forums, I thought that there may be little things that one may need to be aware of when proceeding.

Thanks

Just to let you know that I have just flashed a new AOpen (after posting my first message on your site) with a patched DVR 107D firmware....and it works stunningly well! I used a single speed el cheapo Princo disc and successfully burnt it at 4 speed without a glitch. I used Nero and copied directly from a Lite-ON 812S flashed with Lite-on 832 firmware. It burnt the DVD in 15 minutes.

Thanks for a wonderful and useful forum.

Regards
Thaabit

You need first to rip DVD in HDD and then burn

Nero will not allow you to backup Protected DVD's for this all you need to do is use the latest version of DVD Shrink and if you have Nero installed it will write them automatically !!!

You can possibly encode on the fly by installing AnyDVD but i would suggest it, it stretches DVD-ROM too much
