The latest Philips 8X DVD+R DL recorder vs. SA300 system. We used the same three media as with other tests and Nero CD-DVD Speed v3.00. The software automatically selects the 4X reading speed with DL media, and if you notice at all graphs, the reading speed is really SLOW 0.90~2.00X.

* Nero CD-DVD Speed v3.00 (even 8X selected doesn't make any difference)

Hmm...Oops what happened? The DVDR885P read and reports the disc as perfectly, low PI error rate, even DC Jitter trend line increases. Not very good result!

The results here are much better. The PI error trend line looks increasing at the end of the disc, where also SA300 reports high values. The Jitter trend line looks increasing the way as reported from SA300.

Again low PI error rate as SA300 also agrees, even it misses the start/end high PI errors. The DC Jitter line seems flat, even higher detail would have shown this. Medium->Good result!

The Philips DVDR885P reported higher PI/Jitter error rate when entering the Layer1, in resonable levels. The Nero CD-DVD Speed reported MANY POF errors, when SA300 didn't reported any!! This is serious issue, also the Jitter trend line in general is satisfactory. Medium results...
