(1) If I need to burn between 50 and 700 MB to a CDRW disc each day, will it last longer if I ADD data to it til its full, or do a "quick erase" prior to burning each time?

(2) Does a "full erase" (so data's not on there anymore at all) shorten disc life more or less than a "quick erase"?

As I understand it, each spot should be good for around 1000 hits, so running on using multisession (or creating extra volumes by NOT importing the previous session if you wish to effectively **but not securely** discard the previous content) will probably get more life out of it.

The erase, either sort, will put an additional cycle on the critical areas... unless your usage requires the disk to be "clean", there's little point in taking the time for a full erase, but no harm done if you do.

You are exactally correct. Each disc is basically going to last for one thousand writes (good media). That's alot of writing. I never do a full erase, as this also adds to wear on the disc. I have been writing to some of the same CDRW's for years now, I use them on a daily basis for mp3's, and for audio cd's to travel with. I have not had a failure yet, except due to a scratch.
