Notice: The drive at max reading speed (3.11~8.11X) did skipped several times when measuring the second layer (Layer1), that's why probably the average/maximum error rate is lower than the 4X reading speed results...

High PI on the 2nd layer were expected from a dual layer disc, let' s hope that the KProbe measuring errors do not highly affect these results..

Philips/BenQ and a second one, cannot disclosure for now

According to Kpobe graphs seems that the 4x reading speed is much more accurate than the max speed

Writing speed is 2.4X as for the time depends at the used data...

The KProbe graphs at 4X are more accurate than max speed since at max speed, the drive skipped sectors (as KProbe reported)

Bitsetting will *at least* be supported by LiteON's 832s drive for DVD+R9s. As for K-Probe testing quality, I'm still a big fan of 1x testing over 4x, and especially max.

In what sense do you mean "better" ?? Do you mean are the error rates reported as lower? or do you mean are the results more accurate?

So far from what I've seen, the faster you test the media, the lower the error rate gets... which leads me to believe that testing at 1x is more accurate... however, this is just a hypothesis on my part.

As we are seeing here, the readablility, and therefore the quality reporting, of media on LiteON drives, does not always have *anything* to do with the media's performance in real world settings, such as regular DVD players. This is why I have not yet added a DVD review section to my webpage (among other reasons, the biggest being lack of time!).
