What do these mean? I use Nero CD speed and my prodiscs are dye type-9, my sisters memorex's are dy type 6, and my Verbatim datalife+ are type2's. What do the numbers mean?

They used to be 0-4 - Cyanine (blue/green) - write strategy long
5-9 - Phthalocyanine (clear-ish - silver/gold) - write strategy short

Many more formulations now! - AZO, Formazan (if I spelt it right) and others
