Sorry people, I did'nt know u people would be so pissed of with my CAPS. I will not do that again.

Any ways going back to the topic (Which is about burners wearing out and not smoking), I had a samsung CD Writer with me which got unconditionally spoilt just after 6 months of purchase. I hardly used it as I didnt know how to write CDs. Does isolating the burner causes it to stop working???

I burn about 100 disc every three to four weeks and my drive is about 2 years old. It still burns like new.

Hehe, my Plextor PX-241040A I've had for over a year and I'll say I've burned around 1,000 cd's or so with it. It's still going strong :)
