I was wondering about a couple of things first off where do I find the firmware version to my LiteOn LTR-32123S , and then where do i find the right firmware version to update it ? and do I need to update it?

Also which brand of media is best for it and Nero 5.5.9.0 ?

Hi Stone
You can get the latest Firmware from Here :-
http://www.cdrinfo.com/Sections/Firmware/List_DriveVersions.asp?ListWhat=LTR-32123S
It is usually Wise to use the latest firmware as most times it has improvements for your Writer but always try and find out if you need the improvements first.
The Media I use is Ritek 32x Unbranded and I have no problems at all !!

Hi Stone
The best way to find it in Windows XP is to go to Run on your Start Menu and type in Msinfo32 and then go to Components/CD-ROM and there you will find the Firmware version (as it is not listed in the Device Manager on Windows XP)

Found it it's a XSOF Version and my Lite-on 16x DVD is a GH5K version that was pretty simple thanks!

Yes the XSOX is the Latest version!
Just click on the Downloaded XSOX.exe and follow the Instructions it will give you !
