Yep, Plextor put their fabricated logo on their drives, so people can just pay for the name, whereas Liteon would rather spend that money somewhere else like making fast drives and drives that provide value for money.

My friend once told me that he would only buy plextor. Later he told me he would buy plextor because of their re-sale value. Now he uses liteON, and is trying to sell his Plextor

The only thing I'd ever use (for personal use) other then a LiteON would be a Yamaha CRW-F1

still a valid discussion though!

It's makes me want to puke everytime someone responds to "what type of burner do you have?" with "the best" and then goes on to say that they have a plextor [xx(]

In my opinion plextor is dwarfed by Yamaha, LiteON and quite possibly Teac as well (not neccissarily in that order). Depending (of COURSE!) on what you want to use your burner for

Ahhhhhhhhh.... the revitalization of ancient threads.....

Soooooooo....

What's the skinny on the Plextor Premium w/Giga whatsis?

Of course, I'm concerned about EFM, best Clone CD drive AND best
protected audio drive.

Why can't I have it all?
