Has anybody been able to do what techbum did?

I have the same Iomega CDRW 23040 int-b and would like to OC it to LTR-48125W.

Can anyone help me out.

I just upgrade the f/w for my LT40125S to LT48125W and the result is pretty good..however, I can't see P-CAV support under NERO CD SPEED but only CAV..

I flashed mine too, and so far I am very happy with the results. I have tested it with CloneCD and now am doing a test with Alcohol 120% to see if it will also work. Seems to be a great drive, but Liteons always are.....

Hey there Poncho... yes it is possible to do what techbum did. I just got mine OC`ed to LTR-48125w recently. Its a real breeze.

Just get MTKFLASH 148 and the LTR-48125w f/w (VS02.bin) and flash it. Be sure to see how 2 use MTKFLASH.

Is it possible for me to Flash my 16101B to a higher speed?
i checked but only found the firmware for version 16101c.... could that work for 16101b?

what is the meaning of JLMS ? i just updated my old LTD163 and it is now showing the initials JLMS etc.

my 40x liteOn flashed to 48x works so great with the old vs02 that iam afraid to go to vs06, so tell me should i ?

hmmmmm

interesting. i too have OC my LTD 40125s to the 48x.
On last report the stopping of the burn is not the laser losing power but infact the smart burn disengaging and then re-engaging. I cannot confirm this, but the fact that a coaster is not produced @ the higher writing speed would appear to be benificial.

you may also wish to try the firmware vso2. I have had NO coasters using this firware and writes seem to be quicker, although be it marginal over vso6.

if you wish to have a greater media range then update to VSo6, i have found that it allows some media to be written at the higher speeds.

What's the word on 40125W being the same hardware at 48125W? Does it indeed have P-CAV and Mt. Ranier support when flashed with the new bios? There have been people speculating on the P-CAV, but I haven't read anyone mention that they have it with the 40125W.

Just flashed my 40125S and now it's a 48125W, woo-hoo!
CD-Speed tests confirm a 48x write speed. Haven't burned a CD with it yet, will do that tomorrow.

What's the verdict on the various 48125W firmwares? I have vs02, vs04 and vs06 on disk. The drive is now @ vs06.

I'm not sure if anybody is interested in the info or not, but the LiteON 40125S can burn up to 99:59 on a 90+min CD-R. O burned a 98:38 min CD yesterday on a Ritech 90+min CD-R at 4x. I know, the speed sucks, but I havn't worked my way up to 24x yet (the fastet the Discs can handle supposedly). This was using firmware zs0n by the way, te older firmware that it came with could only handle writing about 93min on the CD. It looks like LiteON really knows how to push their burners with firmware!

Here's a question for you guys: what's up with some media being able to burn much higher then what they say they can be burned at??? My store has some 12x CD-Rs (they're not CMC, they're some factory we almost NEVER deal with, but I can't remember right now...I'll check when I get to work), and when I was doing some burning on them, I just assumed Nero would automatically recognize them as 12x (or smart-burn would tell it/change it), but before I knew it, the CD was burning at 32x....I REALLY didn't expect that. Unfortunatly, it was an audio CD, and it came out kinda scratchy...maybe 24x would be ok. Does anyone know why this happened? Is it just, people marking them at lower speeds then they can handle, or is it the burner (LiteON 40125S again)

I have made OC on my old liteon 40x12x48, now it is a 48x12x48 (LTR48125W) I have burned a CD of 702MB on my computer.

The results are there:

Speed----> Time

32X----> 3:16
40X----> 3:05
48x----> 2:54

I upgraded the firmware on my LTR-40125S to VS06. I have the newest version of nero. When I launched nero it only allows me to burn at 24X. I reflashed the bios back to ZS0K and reinstalled Nero. I cannot burn faster than 24X. Any advice?

Try a clean install of latest Nero (remove Nero, delete the Ahead folder, reboot, re-install Nero)
