Hi!

is this a good drive ? when the 48X burner will be available does those drive will be alot better ? Does the 40X support now Mount Rainier ? is the P-CAV firmware out now ?

completely newbie to this stuff :(

Yes its a good drive. Read our review over 40x Roundup Vol. 1

The 48x recorder is now available and it seems its faster and uses CAV recording technology. I think that LiteoN will publish soon officially the Mount Rainier software since TDK 40x has it

ok thanks another question that i forgot ;) Lite-On 40x write a cd in ~3minutes and the 48x write a cd in ~2:45 minute except that is there other difference between the 2 Lite-On (40125 / 48125)

They are the same, period. Use the same chipset. But the "W" version comes pre-installed with P-CAV writing method and the "S" model is Z-CLV recorder. But they can be inter-changed if you know how

40125S is Made in Taiwan
40125W is Made in China
