The image file created is 707 MB - it is apparantly too big to burn (using nero for this) to a 74 min disc. Will 80 min work? Do I need to overburn? Or is this some type of copy protection?

Use 80min CD. It will fit

are you trying to burn a clone image with nero? i hope it's not copy protected.
