Yamaha has an adapter than converts the IDE connector to a SCSI allowing the derive to be connected on a SCSI card.
This adapter was originaly for the 2200E series. Dabs.com in UK http:\\www.dabs.com describes the adaptor as 3\2200 SCSI adapter...

Has anyone tried this on a 3200 or 2200 drive?
Are you satisfied with it?

I didn't try it on other cdrw drives yet but I have discoverd that the yamaha with the converter doesn't like to be hooked up to my Koutech scsi card (LSI chipset), it gets detected but fails to show up in Win2K. It has no problems with my Adaptec scard tho.

I agree with you qsw911 I use the Adaptec and it works fine with my Yamaha 3200e. I will also say I tried the adaptor with a Freecom 24x IDE and it does not work but I am not sure about other brands.
