I've just had a look in this section and realised that you are talking about recording DVDs onto CDRs.

Is this possible!?

Yes a DVD to CDR conversion is possible. But be warned that a 90-100 minute DVD can take around 37 hours to complete, mainly because if you want excellent quality, 2-pass encoding is needed. Its fun to tinker with and the results can be worth it.

Ouch... I'm not sure its worth it if its taking you that long to copy. It also depends heavily on your machines power. I read an articles where compressing with a Duron 500 takes 15-20 hours. I found that with an Athlon XP 1500+ it took me less than 4 hours to compress a 2hr DVD using 1-pass encoding.

I know it takes a long time......last one I did was a dual cd DivX, which took a "mere" 74 hours to do. I guess you don't wanna go there huh? Anyways, point is this.....you want quality it will take time. There are other progs out there that i hear are faster but I didn't get around to testing them yet.
As far as doing a DVD in 4 hours......sure, I could beat that time but if I want a so-so rip I could d/l one off the net faster.
