My apologies for this message not being entirely on cdrs!..
For quite some time now I have the XP pro cdrom but can't seem to deside to install them!
Currently I have win me installed.. They kinda suck!
I have two partitions. One is for win me and the other is my storage room.I also use Norton Ghost quite a lot.
I want a clean installation of XP pro.People say that in order to fully feel the excellence of XP I should use the NTFS file system. So I guess I need to format my second partition!!!
If DOS is something tha XP kinda lack, how am I supposed to format my HDD (if I want to do so!) after XP are installed???
Should I use a boot disk made in win 9x,me??
Would a simple boot cd (made by me) do the job??

These stupid questions seem to run around in my head whenever I think of XP!!!

What do YOU have to say about it??
They say XP cdrom is bootable! Does it give you the format option???

Help...?

Format should have been used before installation. I think either FAT32 or NTFS will do the job (FAT32 seems to be slight faster than NTFS)

the winxp cd is bootable. in your case i would boot with it and select new install. it will give you the option to format your drive with ntfs. i would definitely choose this because it has a lot of advantages over fat32, such as advanced security features and it will only fragment when it gets almost full.

I must agree with Netman. There is another way to format the drive, you still can use a bootdisk for windows 98 or any OS and then when you get the A: promt switch to c: and format it. Then reboot with the XP disk in the drive. But this is the long way.

Visit www.cdrtimes.net too. Another great place....
