I had installed the EasyCdCreator 4 that came along with my yamaha crw2100E and after a while I installed (along with the ECDC4!) Nero 5.0.4.8! I have to tell you that there was no packet writing program installed!!! I had some hardware problems (that's irrelevant though!)but when I got my pc back (waranties were involved etc!) the guy I bought it from had upgraded my nero to 5.5.5.2 and installed InCD 2.something along with it but it is not configured (yet!).

Whenever I try to make a new iso cdrom on nero and click on my dvd(I have a LiteOn LTD-163 and the yamaha crw2100)so as to see the contents nero suddenly closes (it does not minimise!!!)and I stand there looking at my Desktop!!!!
The funny thing is that , that does NOT happen whenever I see the contents of my HDDs or when I see the contents of my cdr!!!
I found along the way that in my pc there are some additional dlls of nero that are both in 5.5.5.2 and 5.0.1.4 versions!!! The older ones are in a folder called NERO inside the NeroMediaPlayer folder...

What should I do????
If I format my HDD (which I plan to soon enough!) will it be ok (I mean Nero 5.5)???
I have to tell you that in the past(before the nero upgrade and when it didn't came with all these additional programs) both cdr program (nero and easy cd ) worked just fine and I used them in every order I wanted...

HELP...!
1 more thing!! I try the same thing in easy cd creator and I see the dvd's contents without any problem!!!!

WHAT CAN I DO???? Please help me!!

(sorry for the long message but I had to say the details 'cause I think it's a delicate problem!)

If you do a clean installation of your O/S and reload software again...it will be a fresh start and everything should work fine.

Try this first: I would uninstall Nero (via 'Add/Remove Programs' in Control Panel), reboot and reinstall Nero v5.564 (you need to get it first...go to www.download.com), and see if the problem is still there. Make sure also that you disable Direct CD.

And if this fails, try connecting your DVDROM drive to another IDE bus. For example, if its connected to the Secondary IDE bus as Slave, connect it to the Primary IDE bus as Slave.
